A security guard at the Onomichi City Museum of Art in Hiroshima, Japan has been faced with a friendly rivalry between himself and two of the neighborhood cats.

Each morning, the guard arrives to work and is greeted by Ken-chan, a black cat, and Go-chan, an orange tabby cat.

The two felines attempt to slip through the sliding glass doors when they’re opened for the day, and the guard has to corral the cats and carry them back outside.

It’s a lighthearted rivalry that’s all in good fun and it’s been going on for the past 7 years!

Their relationship all began in 2016 when cats became drawn to the museum for some reason. All these years later, two of those cats, Ken-chan and Go-chan, continue to frequent the museum and attempt to sneak in.

When they’re not getting into mischief, the two cats can often be found lounging in the sunshine or hanging out around the guard’s feet.

Ken-chan, the black cat, has even been gifted a collar and has been dubbed the museum’s official mascot! In fact, the museum sells card games and calendars with pictures inspired by Ken-chan.
