A lost Texas dog has been reunited with his family after he was missing for six long months.
Chase’s owner was distraught after he went missing on November 27, 2021. They immediately put up fliers all over their town and posted on social media. They spent the next several months driving around searching for him, but to no avail.
Despite never being able to find their beloved furry family member, they never lost hope.
On April 27, 2022, the City of Denton Animal Shelter received a call regarding three dogs who had been running loose on someone’s property for quite some time.
The following day, one of their offices went to set a trap. They finally caught one of the dogs, but unfortunately he didn’t have a microchip.
They decided to name this sweet pup Kendolph, and took him to their local vet. He would then be placed on a five-day stray hold, and if no owner came forward, he would be available for adoption.
Thankfully, some good samaritans always keep track of the missing animals and were able to put two and two together that Kendolph was actually Chase!
They were able to get in contact with Chase’s owners, who quickly came to the shelter to see the dog and confirm that it was in fact Chase.
As soon as Chase’s dad arrived, Chase ran up to him with his tail wagging. He climbed all over him while his dad began to cry happy tears.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the place!
“This morning was very emotional with a lot of happy tears,” Denton Animal Shelter wrote on Facebook. “Days like today makes up for all the bad days we have here at the shelter. Days like today is a great reminder why we love what we do.”
Their emotional reunion was caught on video, which you can watch below:
