Pets are special members of the family, but they can also be so much more than that. Time after time, we see how they can step in and act as Guardian Angels.

We usually picture dogs as being the pets to step up and protect their family members, but cats can be heroic as well!

Just take the sweet cat in the video below, for example.

The good boy was at his family’s apartment in Bucaramanga, Columbia, and by his side was a 14-month-old toddler.

The toddler seemed quite interested in the balcony ledge and kept trying to grab the railing. It’s unclear how many stories up they were, but based on the view, it’s quite high!

It seems the cat recognized the danger of the balcony and attempted to push the young child’s hands away!

When the child went back for another grab, the cat walked out onto the balcony to stand in the way.

As it turns out, there was actually a security mesh off the balcony so the child was never actually in danger, but that doesn’t take away from the sweet actions of the cat! .
