A mama husky and her seven puppies are grateful to be alive after being trapped in a terrifying house fire.
When first responders arrived at the scene of the fire in Glendale, Arizona, they could see smoke and flames pouring from the house.
It would’ve been an awful scene to arrive at, but it was made worse by the sound of dogs howling and yelping from inside!
The first responders could hear the high-pitched squeals of the animals inside and they quickly began working to pry open the garage door. Using a shovel, they were able to push the door up enough and a mama husky darted from the smoke-filled room.
While the mama was free, there were still seven puppies trapped inside, far too small to escape on their own. It was a dangerous situation, but one heroic first responder rushed into the building and put the puppies in a bowl to carry them to safety.
The dogs needed oxygen and a veterinarian assessment, but they were thankfully found to be ok.
The puppies all latched on to the mama dog, Mona, and nursed successfully and they seemed alert and well.
It could’ve been a tragic situation for the dogs and homeowners, but thanks to the first responders, all 8 dogs now have a fresh start in life!
