A driver in Germany was shocked when they received a speeding ticket in the mail.

While getting a ticket isn’t that out of the ordinary if you happen to be speeding, this was an unusual case because the person who received the ticket wasn’t behind the wheel at all. Instead, a white dog was in the driver’s seat!

The dog’s owner was surprised to see the ticket with the pup’s face plastered on it. The man’s nephew posted about the incident in a now-private tweet and it quickly went viral.

While it might appear like the dog was driving behind the wheel in the photo, he didn’t actually commit car theft.

According to The Dodo, the photo was snapped at a stop light when it was sensed that the vehicle was going too fast.

The ticket was issued in the mail and it showed the photo from the stoplight, which featured the dog in the driver’s seat. However, it was actually the dog’s owner who was driving.

As per The Dodo, the dog was sitting in the passenger’s seat and hopped up by the wheel at the stop light. The actual driver can be seen behind the dog in the photo.

While it’s possible that the dog’s owner could’ve fought the ticket since he couldn’t be seen in the picture, he ended up paying the fee and moving on.
