Animal mothers are so much like human moms.

They love purely, nurture a child so patiently, hug so warmly, kiss away heartaches and pain very tenderly, and worry like no other creature in the world.

This Mama Duck refused to leave a spot near a drainage grate where her ducklings had fallen except for one.

Knowing how friendly her human neighbors are, Mama Duck waited for somebody to notice her predicament. As much as she wanted to rescue her babies by herself, she could not fit into any of the holes much less carry what appears to be a very heavy object.

She was right about her neighbor’s friendliness and kindness. Three of them quickly came to try and get the ducklings out of the drainage.

Another thing for which Mama Duck was right was that the grate which covers the drainage was heavy! Her family’s rescuers could not make it budge even an inch!

Another neighbor came and they used more crowbars. At last, after so much effort, they were able to lift the grate and place it on top of planks to secure it while they rescue the ducklings.

One of the rescuers was small enough to fit into the drainage and get Mama Duck’s babies one by one. Mama Duck was so happy to see every one of them back on safe ground.

The rescuers made sure that none of the ducklings got left in the drainage. Then, they triumphantly put back the grate.

After the heartwarming feat, the rescuers watched Mama Duck and her ducklings waddle off in peace, knowing that good people are watching over them in this part of the world.
