Sheep are more often found referenced in the Bible. Goats, apparently, want more physical participation when it comes to the Church.
It was on March 17 when the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office received an alarm call and a team was dispatched to the Bethesda Church in Prattville, Alabama.
Deputies approached cautiously, as they saw that the glass front door of the church was broken. Glass shards could be seen on both sides of the door, so they assumed that the alarm call was for some burglary case.
Once the deputies went on and searched the premises, they found the culprits in the church’s kitchen. You might think the robbers just stopped for a snack before moving on to their next crime – except they weren’t humans.
Caught in the headlights like deer, these goats were photographed by the deputies who were dispatched to the scene. How surprised both parties must have been to see the other there!
After the discovery, the deputies were able to contact the owner to let them know about the situation, and both goats were wrangled up and taken back to their home.
It is possible that the deputies were able to look for the owner because both goats were tagged. It’s so important to tag or chip pets and livestock so that they can be traced and returned when lost!
The Autauga County Sheriff’s Office posted on their Facebook that “Goats need Jesus too” and described the scene as, “a first here in Autauga County to find goats in a church! 😂😂😂”
